We want to first thank and glorify God for all He has done, is doing, and will continue to do in Colombia, with Enciende El Fuego, and in our family! The month of June has flown by which means we are even closer to the birth of our daughter Mia Joy Snyder. We are thankful that she continues to grow and stay healthy and also that Maria has been healthy and blessed. She is due August 29, but she is already ahead of schedule in her growth. We plan on having Mia with a private doctor as a result of an unpleasant experience in her assigned place to give birth. We continue to pray for and bless our daughter, and we know that God has big plans for her.
Maria has been enjoying this transition in her role as mother. She has been learning to trust in the Lord even more and being thankful for everything in life. She will hopefully be officially graduating from her university on September 20! Jonathan has been challenged to trust in God with all the decisions he has to make as a husband, father, and leader. He has been to be wise in all times with his actions and words and to be a shining light for others. As a couple we are challenged to be faithful in the small details and in our times with the Lord.

Things continue to go well in the ministry and we are looking to expand even more. We are still praying for a few more committed volunteers. We are thankful God has sent us a new volunteer Alejandro who wants to be with us a lot, but is limited because of his work schedule. We are also training other volunteers to be coordinators so that when we are in the U.S. or another place, they will be prepared to continue the work. They have done a good job! We were a little bummed about being rejected for a non-profit bank account here (it’s a bit complicated) without a reason why. We realize it’s important to have that account to be able to receive more funds here. However, we are trusting Him to guide us.
We still continue with our missions months in 17 de Diciembre and Divino Niño. We have done evangelism and have taught about Jim and Elizabeth Elliot, the Apostle Paul, and Samuel Morris. We will soon begin teaching about different countries in different regions of the world - the spiritual climate, religion, persecution, missions efforts, praying needs, etc. On July 13, we will focus on North/Central/South America and in the following weeks Europe, the Middle East and the 10/40 window, Africa, and Asia.
In the month of June, we had several ministry events including a teacher training and two evangelistic activities. On June 3, Maria and I and another teacher did a teacher training for a group of teachers at a local church and was very well-received. That same day we did an event in Cuidad Equidad where we got to share the salvation message, dance, sing, and play games with about 100 kids. On June 26, we had another event in Alfonso López where we did something similar with a gospel message, games, crafts, and other activities! Our mission trip to Barranquilla from June 24-27 was cancelled.
“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.” - 2 Corinthians 9:6
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and surely I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20
In Christ,
Jonathan, María, and Mia
