Life Update
We praise and thank God for all He has done, is doing, and continues to do! The month of September has been a good month for us as we learn how to navigate parenting Mia! It hasn’t always been easy, but it is definitely rewarding and a joy. God is definitely developing the fruits of the spirit even more in Maria and I and is allowing us to be able to encourage and speak to others about parenting. We know that God has set apart Mia for a great purpose in life. She is strong, loves to eat, sleep, eat, and eat and is already well-advanced compared to most babies here! We continue to pray for God’s special anointing on her life and that He develops a love for Him and others in her! Having a baby certainly draws you closer to God. She is already a month and a half old!
We are proud that Maria has finally officially graduated from college on Friday, September 20! It was great seeing all her hard work and dedication pay off after all her inconveniences with the university. On October 1, we went to apply for Mia’s U.S. citizenship and passport and we hope to have it at the end of this month. She has already gotten her Colombian passport. We are excited that my parents will be visiting us and meeting Mia in Colombia from October 26-November 2! We are planning on a U.S. visit for a few months next year (April-June) to visit family, fundraise, etc. We have been invited to participate in a conference in January for Crisalinco, a ministry to indigenous peoples of Colombia.

This past month we had several great activities for the kids. In Divino Niño we are on week 7 of the Hope for Kids program with Evangelism Explosion and we have seen a lot of spiritual growth among the kids. In 17 de Diciembre, we did evangelism on the 7th, a missions celebration on the 14th, a Love and Friendship Day special activity with a local ministry on the 21st, and talked about the importance and purpose of the church on the 28th. From now until the end of the year we will be teaching the kids about the basics of Christianity - time with God, fasting, prayer, communion, baptism, etc. We continue praying that God continues igniting His Fire in each child!
We went to the neighborhood of Timayui on the 14th and did a teaching and games for the kids. We also participated in a presentation about first aid on the 30th. We were blessed with an amazing donation of 112 Action Bibles to give out to the kids! Many of the kids are already reading a lot of the stories, which is a big win! We will also shortly be starting fundraising and accepting donations for our end-of-the-year parties and gifts for the kids. We are praying for/declaring a coordinator that will be able to lead the ministry when we are away and also for someone with photography and video-making skills to come and serve with us.
“For we live by faith, not by sight.” - 2 Corinthians 5:7
“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” - Ephesians 3:20-21
