Life Update
Once again we give thanks to God for all that He has done, is doing, and will continue to do! We are pleased to celebrate and announce that our daughter Mia Joy Snyder has entered the world on August 15 at 11:56am at 7.2 lbs and 19.2 inches exactly three years from the day Maria and I first met. Over these past three weeks we have really been enjoying watching Mia develop and mature, and we both love her a ton! Having a child truly is a gift from God. So far Mia has gotten her Colombia birth certificate, went for her Colombian passport, been dedicated at our church, and already has many persons that have shown her much love. We have been declaring a special anointing of the Holy Spirit in her life. We know that God has special plans for her and for us as a family of three.
Maria will be graduating on September 20 from her university and is enjoying her new role as a mom. Jonathan is enjoying being a father and is learning how to balance ministry and being present with his family. We are waiting to receive Mia’s appointment to get her certificate and her U.S. passport so that we will be able to visit the United States in October. We have been challenged to constantly think from an eternal perspective and to do everything for God’s approval. Are we looking more and more like Jesus? We are also praying for a reliable, inexpensive car for our family and ministry.
Ministry Update
We were privileged this past month to have a guys’ hangout and a girls’ hangout with our staff. It was really good to enjoy each others’ company and bond with them. I got to do a presentation about fundraising and being a missionary several weeks back for the volunteers as we are equipping them to be missionaries. We started the Hope for Kids program with Evangelism Explosion on August 23 in Divino Niño, and we have seen the kids participating and getting excited about learning. We have now finished with our missions months in 17 de Diciembre and will be starting a new unit on the basics of Christianity - fasting, baptism, communion, etc - through the end of the year.
