ECA and Bogotá Update
The first semester of school finished on December 18. This new semester I will be teaching hockey and ultimate as well as coaching high school girls’ volleyball. There will also be a high school girls’ volleyball tournament and high school guys’ and middle school girls’ and guys’ soccer tournaments during lunches. I definitely feel the relationships with students and staff are much deeper, and we as a staff are trusting God for more miracles in the lives of ECA students. This new semester will certainly be challenging as I know I won’t be returning next year, but God sustains and will help me stay focused and faithful.
Eje Cafetero Adventure
A while back God put on my heart to visit the coffee region of Colombia, so I decided to go over the holidays. Once again my goal was to just go and let God surprise me each day. And once again God surprised me and cared for me in amazing ways. I returned to Bogotá on January 6 after 17 days. I am thankful God allowed me to see one of the most beautiful regions of Colombia and meet genuinely amazing people there. He encouraged me for my future and blessed me with His presence and peace. God continues to grow my heart for this country, and I keep praying God uses me to bring revival and redemption to the Colombian people.
Life
One thing in my life that has continually amazed me is God’s grace towards me. God continues to call me to trust Him through some confusing, and sometimes difficult, things in my life lately – things that have shaken me up on the inside, things that don’t make sense, where God is silent and I don’t know what to do. God calls us to be still and wait patiently, but yet we are supposed to take action. But He is calling me to TRUST Him, and He has been drawing me deeper with Him.
One excited thing God has put on my heart is to do random acts of kindness such as buying or doing things for porteros, bus drivers, random people, and others. Another awesome thing has been God allowing me to have deeper conversations and connect with others. I continue to ask God each day to surprise me and to do something out-of-the-box. This next six months will be interesting, challenging, and surprising as God unfolds His next step for me.

“I have set the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; me flesh also dwells secure.” – Psalm 16:8-9
“Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways.” – Psalm 119:37
“Thus says the Lord: Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the Lord.” – Jeremiah 9:23-24
