Going to the Nations!
We leave soon for our first overseas mission trip from July 12-26 to the Dominican Republic! We will be doing evangelism trainings with kids, ministry trainings with teachers, preaching, and general minstry activities mostly in the capital city of Santo Domingo. A hispanic church from Allentown, PA, invited us last year, and it is amazing to see God's promise to go to the nations coming to fruition! We are currently at $1,132 of our $2,500 goal From left to right: Omar, Karina, Maria, Zoe, Mia and Jonathan |

Enciende El Fuego is now also a church!
During the past few months the Lord had strongly put on our hearts the need to plant a church, so Maria and I accepted the call to lead the church (which we knew was coming). We had our first Wednesday evening service on May 18th and our first Sunday service on June 5th. Two persons in the first two weeks have decided to follow Jesus! We will be starting shortly the process of legalization. This is what we felt had been missing from the ministry! We currently have services on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00pm and Sunday mornings from 9:00-11:00am. | |
Testimony time
In the first two Sundays of having our church, two persons decided to surrender their hearts to Christ!
The husband of one of our volunteers and church attendee has been far from the Lord and hasn't wanted to attend church for a long time. We invited him to attend with his wife and three kids, and he has attended the past few weeks. We trust God is transforming his heart and transforming the family!
We have seen several kids with a passion for evangelism. Luis Fernando (11 years old) was a boy who attended the ministry several years ago who had some behavioral problems and has returned several weeks ago. He is a bit shy, but he has been so willing to pray and share the Gospel message in front of persons and groups. He is mighty warrior in God's Kingdom! He is in the white shirt below sharing the Gospel message with the big evangelism cube.

We attended a 3-day conference in the city of Cartagena in May with the goal of connecting with ministries that support ministries!
The title papers for the ministry center are finally in our name (we signed on June 22)! What a long, unexpected process filled with inconveniences, frustrations, and things out of our control, but God is faithful! We did learn a thing or two about waiting on the Lord and not trying to fix things in our own strength but by prayer. Now we can request a permit to allow us to do construction on the ministry center legally! Our first order of business is to put up a security fence all around the building, but in order to do this, the columns for the 2nd floor need to be put in place first. This first phase of columns and the fence will be costing around $12,500. The dollar is currently more than 4 times the peso, so every donation multiplies more than 4 times! |
We hosted our first ever medical mission team at our ministry center from May 17-18. The group from FAME was comprised of doctors and other personnel from Barranquilla, the United States and Mexico as well as other volunteers from Santa Marta.
The kids and families who participated were invited to our ministry and church, and a good number of them have started attending!
