The Snyder family is doing great despite all the craziness and consequences of coronavirus in Colombia and around the world! We have been going through a lot of mixed feelings and emotions lately with the situation here, with Zoe arriving shortly, with our decision whether or not to have the baby in the States and with our asking God for greater clarity for our lives and ministry. Our new car (thanks to a church donation) has been a huge blessing for us as a family and has allowed us to more easily minister, transport materiales, transport ourselves, etc!
We have made the decision to return to the States on May 11 for a few months to have Zoe. It was not an easy decision (at least not for Jonathan), but we feel God leading us in that direction. The hospital situation here in Santa Marta isn't very good among other reasons. We will continue raising support for us and Enciende El Fuego during our time in Pennsylvania. Every single detail that has needed working-out either here or in the States has been worked-out wihout us really trying! Several people here without knowing about our decision had been praying for us to have the baby in the States, too. Our team of ministry coordinators is well-prepared to continue the work and lead well in our absence!

Maria and Zoe are very healthy as they enter into about 7 months of pregnancy! We are praying for the opportunity for Maria to have a normal birth and not another c-section. We have made the decision to return to the U.S. to have the baby and are trusting the Lord to provide all that we need. We leave for the U.S. on May 11! | |
Ministry Update
We are grateful for all God has done and is doing with Enciende El Fuego. In the midst of restrictions and other things here, we have committed to continue advancing God's Kingdom by working with kids and families in-person despite the risks involved. God has brought us an incredible team of volunteers (14 of them...picture below) who are committed to God's mission to make disciples! In March, we had a powerful time of fasting/prayer/team meeting/lunch in our house!
We had our special Kids' Day celebrations in each of our four sites from April 20-24!
